How we set our routes
We have areas that are easier for beginners and more challenging for experienced and adventurous climbers.
We built the walls so that all natural features are included in our routes, so there are some great arêtes and laybacks.
We always incorporate lots of different sized and shaped volumes onto the main walls to keep it interesting for our climbers!
Route Setting Frequency
You’ll find new routes every two weeks on alternating Friday’s. Our two bouldering rooms are set into the Left and Right side.
We endeavour to route set on alternating Friday’s from 9.30am until 4.30pm in order to minimise any impact to our customers, details are shown on the route setting calendar posted on our website and social media platforms at the beginning of every month.
Problem Grading
The route setter suggests the initial grade and then we give it the Yellow Spider test (a good excuse to make sure we get to climb every new route).
Around the centre, you’ll find a notebook for your feedback. At the end of a short trial period, we’ll review your feedback and adjust the grades accordingly.
