All the information you need to make a safe and stress free return to our climbing wall.

Your Visit

White Spider has moved into ‘Tier 2:High Level’ restrictions. We are open! But these higher level restrictions mean the following changes to our measures:

  • You should not climb at White Spider with anyone who is not from your household or support bubble.
  • Masks – you are now required to wear a mask when not on the wall; this includes when belaying.
  • You can still: boulder, use the Auto-Belays, roped Climb with members of your Household or Support Bubble, have a coffee & cake seated in our café and use the training and stretching areas.

For more details, including how these restrictions affect our instructor-led sessions, see our announcement around changes for ‘Tier 2:High Level’ restrictions. – Thank you to all our climbers for sticking to these rules and helping to keep our wall’s open.

We want to make everyone’s climbing at White Spider as safe as possible. We ask all our visitors to:

  • Wash or Sanitise their hands frequently
  • Wear a face covering on arrival and at all times when not on the wall
  • Where possible arrive for your session ready to climb
  • Adhere to social distancing measures, keeping at least 2 metres apart from other climbers and avoiding busy areas
  • Make sure to check-out when leaving

Common F.A.Q's

When visiting White Spider you will need to wear a face mask on arrival and and at all times when not on the wall.

This is following updated measures essential to operating within ‘Tier 2:High Level’ restrictions.

Hands. Face. Space. These are the three most effective ways to control the spread of Covid-19.

All of our facilities have a maximum capacity based on 3 metre social distancing (9sq metres per climber), giving plenty of room for everyone.

How do you use our climbing walls?

I’m a regular climber at your centre who doesn’t require supervision or an instructor; You will not need to pre-book for casual climbing at any of our centres.

I have a U.A.T* and used to climb with my friends who also have U.A.T’s; You will not need to pre-book to come climbing at any of our centres.

I climb under the supervision of an Adult friend who is a competent climber; You will not need to pre-book for casual climbing. Just sign in with your supervisor as normal.

I climb at your centre using the 15 minute Auto-Belay sessions; Maximum of 2 children (under 18’s) can attend with 1 adult. New restrictions. More details here

I climb under the supervision of an Instructor; We hope to be running coach led sessions after our first two weeks of opening. As before, coach led sessions will need to be pre-booked.

In addition to managing capacity, we have introduced a number of walk-ways to help the flow of individuals around the climbing wall along with separate entrance and exits.

As we did in the lead up to closing, we will be maintaining a rigorous cleaning schedule of all high contact surfaces; with a staff member on permanent rotation going around and cleaning. We have also added additional hand washing and sanitisation stations.

We have put screens up and moved our Auto-Belays to allow for 2 metres social distancing.

Due to the nature of the climbing wall, we are unable to wash each hold after its use, so we ask that you wash your hands before and after your climb.

We have now started a small Covid-19 Secure programme of coaching. You can find more details and Online Booking Here
