We have just a few weeks until schools break up for half term, and we’ve filled our coaching calendar to the brim with sessions that are bookable now!
Below, we’ve collated a quick guide (with booking links!) of options for you to get climbing during the holidays! Whether you want to keep the kids busy or get a climb in yourself, we’ve got something for everyone!
Kids Climbing
First up – we’ve got big news! Our kids taster sessions have undergone a bit of a re-brand! They’ve got brand new names, and brand new (much lower!) prices. Don’t worry though, the content and length of the sessions haven’t changed.
Casual Creepy Crawlies (previously Mini Taster)
These sessions are aimed at kids aged 5 to 7 years old, and it’s a perfect introduction for kids that have never climbed before as well as kids who come back time and time again! Our instructors run the sessions in a chilled out, fun-focused way – we want to encourage everyone to challenge themselves and build up some climbing confidence whilst having the absolute best time!
- Duration: 1 hour
- Ratio: 1 instructor to a maximum of 4 kids
- Cost: Just £19 per person (previously £35)
Casual Arachnids (previously Junior Taster)
This session is aimed at our slightly older kids, from 8 to 16 years old. Similar to Creepy Crawlies, this session can be for complete newbies to seasoned experts – our instructors are great at differentiating the challenges and climbs for all abilities!
Duration: 1.5 hours
Ratio: 1 instructor to a maximum of 6 kids
Cost: Just £22.50 per person (previously £39)

Family Climbing
Now, climbing at Blue Spider is not just for kids! We love our sport, and want to introduce it to as many people as we possibly can. This half term, you can get the entire family climbing:
Private Session:
In this 1 hour session, you’ll have an instructor all to yourself! This means you can tailor the session to your own needs, whether you want a taster of everything climbing has to offer, or you want to learn the basics so you can climb independently in the future.
Our instructors can show you, and up to five other people the ropes (pun intended!), and get you scaling the heights in no time!

Learn to Climb
The best way to get the most out of Blue Spider is to learn to climb, so you can climb independently, without the need for an instructor!
We offer comprehensive climbing courses to teach you how to use our facilities safely and independently. There’s two options:
Bouldering Induction:
Bouldering is low-level climbing, without the use of harnesses or ropes. We offer a 30 minute long Induction which will teach you how to boulder safely. After you’ve done your induction, you can use our bouldering areas without supervision.
- Duration: 30 mins
- Cost: £22
- Age: 14+*
Once you’ve completed the induction, and before you can boulder without supervision, you’ll need to fill out a new registration form and complete a very quick safety test at Reception. This is best done on your next visit after the induction.
Beginners Course:
If you want to go all in – we’ve got the course for you! Our Beginners Courses will teach you how to boulder, use our Auto-Belays and Top Rope climb independently. This four hour course can be done all in one day, or split over multiple sessions.
Duration: 4 hours
Cost: £119
Age: 14+*
